Harrison Ford says an airport runway incident now beneath investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration happened as a result of he “misheard a radio instruction.”

The 77-year-old star, who’s an avid pilot, was working a aircraft at California’s Hawthorne Airport on April 24 when he crossed a runway whereas one other plane was touchdown.

“Mr. Ford crossed the airport’s solely runway in his plane after he misheard a radio instruction from [air traffic control],” Ford’s rep advised Web page Six in an announcement Wednesday. “He instantly acknowledged the error and apologized to ATC for the error.
