Michael McClure Useless: Legendary Beat Poet Dies at 87

Michael McClure, a beat poet and playwright who learn on the San Francisco Six Gallery studying in 1955, has died on the age of 87. McClure died on Monday, Could 4, as a result of lingering results from a stroke he suffered in spring 2019, the San Francisco Chronicle reported. He died at his residence in Oakland, California.

Garrett Caples, an editor for the Metropolis Lights Writer and a superb pal of McClure, mentioned to the media outlet, “Michael was some of the vital American poets of the latter half of the 20th century. He had a spot in standard tradition along with literary tradition that not many poets have been capable of occupy.”

McClure was born on October 20, 1932, in Marysville, Kansas. He leaves behind his spouse Amy Evans McClure, daughter Jane McClure, Jane’s husband William Eggimann and two grandsons, Michael Eggimann and James Eggimann.
