FBI Fees 4 Toledo Metropolis Council Members with Bribery & Extortion

The U.S. Lawyer’s Workplace within the Northern District of Ohio introduced June 30 that 4 sitting Toledo Metropolis Council members and one native legal professional are being charged in what the Division of Justice is looking a “bribery and extortion scheme.”

Tyrone Riley of District 1 and Yvonne Harper of District 4, in addition to at-large members Garrick Johnson, Larry Sykes and native lawyer Keith Mitchell, are being accused of “soliciting and/or accepting money, checks, cash orders, or different issues of worth from native enterprise homeowners in change for his or her votes on Metropolis Council.”

In response to the information launch, the FBI started investigating Toledo Metropolis Council in early 2018 and found by means of a number of sources not named within the launch that council members had been accepting cash in return for votes and laws.
