The NYPD dished out dozens of summonses for lax social-distancing in metropolis parks on Saturday as cooped-up New Yorkers emerged from coronavirus quarantine to take in the solar, Commissioner Dermot Shea stated.
“In parks particularly yesterday, we issued 43 summonses,” Shea stated Sunday in a joint press briefing with Mayor Invoice de Blasio.
An extra eight summonses had been issued outdoors of parks for a complete of 51, stated Shea, who famous that whereas “not each single one” of the write-ups was for failing to keep up a social distance “the bulk had been.”
